The Buffalo Geosciences Program (BGP) is funded by a continuing grant from the National Science Foundation and is hosted by a partnership of Buffalo State College, Erie Community College, and the University at Buffalo.

Our target population represents about one quarter of the general population in the US, but earns only 4.6% of all college degrees in the geosciences.

The Science and Engineering Equal Opportunities Act of 1980 directs "full development and use of the science and engineering talents of men and women, equally, of all ethnic racial, and economic backgrounds," as well as those talents of persons with disabilities.
