Erie County Central Library - Geared towards a family audience, participants in these fall 2005 programs will learn about the history of map making through the work of William Smith.  Activities will include mapping a dream park, using our sandbox to create different landscapes, and  navigating on a library wide hunt with our treasure map.  For more information about this collaboration visit www.lfbuffalo.org/exhibitions/map/. Museumsciences Buffalo Museum of Science - Beginning in January 2005, visitors to the Museum will be able to discover Earth Science through a series of exciting hands-on activities and demonstrations.  Students from Erie Community College, the University at Buffalo, and several local high schools have designed multiple educational units that will be presented at the Museum over the winter and spring months.  Topics will be presented on Saturdays over a period of one month.  Each month, a new topic will be presented with new materials and hands-on demonstrations.  The series takes place in the Staff Kitchen of the Museum.  The Museum's website can be found at www.sciencebuff.org.

Penn Dixie Outdoor Education Center - Continuing a relationship begun in the summer of 2004, BGP interns will work at Penn Dixie as trail guides for visitors to the site.  Interns will help locate and identify fossils, explain the local geologic history, discuss astronomy, view sunspots, and give presentations on various geoscience topics.  For more information about BGP GOLD's summer programs at Penn Dixie visit www.penndixie.org.
